(all questions are Lesley D originals)


1/ What's the largest verb group?

2/ What's the difference between solo and sólo?

3/ In Spanish spoken in Panama ñapu refers to what vegetable?

4/ Ay and hay are considered xxx in grammatical terms. What are they?

5/ Give two synonyms for cobija.

6/ What's the common word for straw in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela?

7/ What's the difference in meaning between un hombre pobre and un pobre hombre.

8/ In Spanish spoken in Cuba, what is a "guateque"?

9/ Cayuco, patera, yola all are examples of what?

10/ What does the expression "en un dos por tres" mean.

From the beginning-

If you want to learn the language properly and understand the logic of it start from scratch. A good grammar book, a verb book and learn vocabulary. Overtime interaction with people, watching TV and reading will be keys to acquisition. It requires effort and dedication. There's no short cut.

1/ the AR group
2/ solo is an adjective and sólo is the short form of solamente the adverb.
3/ okra
4/ homonyms
5/ la manta, la frazada (blanket)
6/ pitillo
7/ un hombre pobre= poor// un pobre hombre= poor in the sense of unfortunate
8/ party (fiesta)
9/ type of canoe or boat (if you want to call it that)
10/ "in no time" aka "in a jiffy"
