Los premios Casandra

Juan Luis, IMO is a legend in Dominican music with his unique interpretations of Caribbean rhythms. Over the past year his music has been in the spotlight and he has won Grammy awards and now Casandra awards, which are exclusive to the DR. However, I can't help but wonder why the spotlight on Juan Luis after such a long career? IMO, his older music is better and no artist can top some of his classics. Dominican music has taken a hit over the past few years but will Juan Luis keep Dominican music in the spotlight or will other Latin countries continue to emerge and represent? Food for though for all Latin music followers.
