Premio Alfaguara de Novela 2008

As an avid reader of Spanish literature discovering new authors and their literary collection fascinates me. The literary talent that the Spanish language has adds to the richness of the language and guarantees that there will always be a high level class category regardless how much the colloquial speech continues to evolve.
I had never heard of this Cuban author but thanks to the renowned Premio Alfaguara de Novela awarded annually, I now know of another Latin American author to sample and hopefully enjoy overtime. Antonio Orlando Rodríguez is this year's winner for his novel Chiquita. See this feature article in BBC Mundo for more details. If you don't have a book list for 2008, Chiquita is one you can add to your list.
