I have not read an English novel since 1995 and really struggle to find English prose that captures my attention. The recognition that Junot Díaz has received for his novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao could be the novel that helps break my thirteen year hiatus from English reading.

I also have been interested in some literature by Edwidge Danticat, a Haitian author with a renowned reputation for her contribution to Caribbean literature.

I am just about finished reading a book which seems like it has taken me a life time to read. I think I experienced a mental block. I usually read a novel per month, however, this one has taken me three months to complete.

I can't wait to move on and sample some long standing novels I have on the shelf of my home library. I do have a selection of novels that I hope to read this year however, I also keep finding others that are of interest to me. The bottom line is I will always be...

After the Andean crisis between Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador, in honor of the peace agreement reached among the three countries, the popular Colombian singer Juanes organized a concert for Colombia and Venezuela. The theme of the concert is Paz sin fronteras. After seven days of tension an agreement was reached in the Grupo de Río summit.
