Who needs a car, get a motorcycle...

In North America this may be something unimaginable but in Latin America the family car for many is a motorcycle. This photo today of man and his kids in Cartagena, Colombia is a reflection of ordinary life in many Latin American cities. A motorcycle is quick, cheap on gas and gets through traffic quickly. The only aspect is the risks the kids are exposed to due to careless driving by either the parent or other drivers.

'I am getting on that boat come hell or high water'; this is what I imagine to be the mindset of many of these Africans who pay thousands of dollars to traffickers to leave their country of origin hoping to reach the coast of Europe- Malta, Spain or Italy. Well, it’s high season officially starting in April and I believe we will see many more of these sad reports of the lives lost in the Mediterranean Sea at the expense of human trafficking.

Africa is a continent with many poor countries...

When pursuing formal studies in Spanish, one enrolls in course work appropriate for his or her level. When learning a second language formal studies are the best way to begin in order to understand the grammatical structure of the language which includes learning the alphabet, phonetics, accents and syllables all which are mandatory if one wishes to learn and speak Spanish fluently and at an equivalent native level. If one already has some familiarity with Spanish grammar, no doubt it’s an advantage...

I was browsing through the Puerto Rican newspaper endi.com and came across an interesting ad- 'es un ñame preparar viandas con mazola oliva'. I clicked on the link and there was a promotional PDF file of vegetables with a brief description of how to best prepare them for optimum cuisine of course using 'Mazola Virgin Olive Oil'.

I think this is a handy link to have if you enjoy cooking or knowing about some of the typical vegetables used in Caribbean cuisine both English and Spanish-speaking...

Maybe the secretary of education read my poll. Wishful thinking but I think the timing of this article is paramount and supports my two posts in this thread about the need for education to step up to the plate which would overtime improve the quality of Dominican Spanish, although keeping separate the vernacular (the spoken language) from the written language, the two go hand in hand.

My primary question is how will this be achieved in three years and will this be geared towards elementary,...
