Eminent Domain and Property Expropriation

The Dominican Government Expropriated some land to
build a road. I have send letters and spoken to more than
20 different goverment official about this issue. I am running
in a circle. Finally I am told that the government has no Money.

I am a US Citizen. What can I do?

You should contact the Americam Embassy in the Dominican Republic and ask for their guidance.

They have some 16+cases of expropiations pending with the DR Government. If you document your case well for them, they will probably add your case to their portfolio and lobby for you when they meet with government officials.

The DR Government is obliged by dominican law, international treaties and under the CBI legislations to compensate you for your land.
