environmental job opportunities

I have visited the D.R. only once before, and stayed on the north coast. I work for a state health department in the US, and was wondering what type of environmental job opportunities might be available in the D.R. I know that there are environmental issues everywhere, but I would especially like to know about opportunities in the Caribbean. I have over 10 years experience in public health, dealing mainly with water supply protection and treatment, sewage disposal, rabies control, food supply sanitation, etc. Any replies would be appreciated.

You should try to contact Dr. Frank Moya Pons, Secretary of State of the Environment, a recently created Government Ministry.

In a conversation with him a few weeks ago, he told me he is looking for qualified personnel and to refer him candidates, for employment or contracting as consultants.
