Wim, your question is like asking how far is up. You need to consult a ocean freight forwarder or ocean shipping company at or near where the container is going to move from Europe. Costs ( in the thousands of US$) will depend on what steamship company to be used, the size of the move (20' or 40' ocean container), whether it is going to be a door to door move (door of your European location to door of the Dominican location, shipping co does everything for you), port to port move (shipping company arranges move from the European port to the Dominican port only, you handle all paperwork and services for move door to the port and from the port to the door). Also, there are many other variations of a container move you may want to consult on. As you see it can be quite complicated and prices depend upon the type service you desire.
