Minister of Industry & Commerce Hugo Guiliani Cury, who heads the National Competitiveness Plan, recently gave a speech at the American Chamber of Commerce on the subject. See http://www.seic.gov.do/compet.htm

What do you mean exactly when you say "domestic demand"? Are you referring to the components of GDP? Be more specific with your question and maybe I can help you. If you know spanish, you can look at the Central Bank website, it has a lot of info. The website actually has some info in English.

Domestic demand:how people spend money. how much they spend for food, consumer goods, free time, home....
It's something you usually find in the annual report of the central bank or of the institute of statistics (in Europe at least). i start thinking that these are informations they do not take into consideration, as i do not find them anywhere.
I can read Spanish but can't write/speak it.
Thank you very much!!

Mara, I think this has some of the info you need. This is only one of several files. Check them out and let me know if its what you are looking for.
