Hi there,

We are planning to move to Santo Domingo in the very near future from the US.

Since we are planning to stay there for at least 5 years maybe more and I was wondering is it better to buy a house or rent one.
We need a 4 bedroom house.

I appreciate your comments and advices.

If your question is whether mortgages are available, you will be very disappointed. Private financing may be available. Do an archives search for mucho informacion.

renting can be very economical. If you really want to buy a place you should rent in the area for some time to get an idea of the prices and other "gotchas"

Thanks for the suggestions. I will not consider buying a hse at the moment. What is the best source for rentals?
