Default Credit Card Payment

I will be setting up a tourist related business for the latter part of this year. How would I go about obtaining a scanner and establishing an account with the card companies. What is involved and what should I do. Regards, PJT

Lightbulb PJT,

Simply contact the credit card transaction company, for example CARDNET or VISANET, and ask them to open an account. Cardnet accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express and Visanet both visa and mastercard. You do need to have a legal business established with your RNC number and your taxes up to date. If you have a good relationship with your bank, they can help you as they have cooperative agreements with the transaction companys. Some relationships that I am aware of are Banco Popular and Progreso with Cardnet, Bainiter and Bankcredito with Visanet. You must have a viable business before they will accept you. And a word of advice, negotiate your commission level as it is not a fixed percentage as they would like you to believe!
