6 villas built for 200,000? That's a little over 33,000 each. That doesn't seem to jive with what I'm hearing about DR building costs.

If you have the right people and know how to negoiate..A 2-3 bedroom villa is that price to build...I spent the same ammount for a home overlooking the ocean..with a Garage and patio...But not in Juan Dolio....That fact is You can get a crew of Dominicans together for what it would cost you one homebuilder in the USA..Go and shop for the materials yourself and oversee the construction personally and Presto...A nice home well constructed for under $35,000 USD...Everything included...Except furnishings...Mine came in at that price with Solar Power..And Marble flooring...........

Absolutly correct ! Posible 2-3 bdroom. But if you invest more into your villa ...like 100,000.00 ...you might sell it for big $$$ ...but find the client first , who wants to spend over 300,000.00 for a villa in D.R. ...Well may be in Roco Ki

That's a pleasant surprise to me, and I appreciate the info STEVE and zak. I guess the construction prices I had read previously were mainly high end North Coast situations.

Just be smart and carefull ... construction materials buy on yr own . Remember all the ingenieros have % from the cost of materials when they buy for you . Find a right people and be always there to watch . Little trick to get even some money back when you buy materials : is to ask some % , just tell them first that you work for a developer and shopping around for prices and better %. Never tell anybody you are The Boss.
