low prices of land/ungated community

hi
ive seen a lot of land for sale on dr real estate sights that are around $10000 a block ( areas around cabarete/ sosua /nth coast. In your experience would YOU build on land that wasnt part of a gated community...am i exposing myself to unforseen risk given this lot is not in a gated community

If you need to ask you know to little to buy.
Come here for a few months check it out ask the long time expats and you will find out it all depends where .

Paul gives good advice to follow. I have heard stories of problems even in gated communities that you wouldnt want to experience on a first hand basis.

Amazing some of the true stories that would freak you out. Speak to people and spend some time before you buy. Unlike what some folks do I wouldnt advise pulling the trigger too quickly.
