Questions on Importing & Distributing Pharm./Nutritional Supp. Products in DR
Recently my partners and I acquired the liscensing rights to distribute a line of nutritional supplements in DR. This brings with it many questions concerning receiving the proper classifications from the government. In the US these products can be sold over the counter. But in other countries that our company has begun to distibute in, some of the product line was classified as "drugs" and could only be dispensed with a prescription.
Who do we need to meet with to be granted approval and to garner the classifications we desire for this product?
The Dom. gov. website for The Sec. of Public Health is currently under construction. I need names and how to contact these individuals.
Am I even on the right track?
What gov. department is responsible for approving and classifying new health products?
Are there any upcoming trade shows for medical and health professionals where we could set up a booth or make a presentation?
Any other thoughts, helpful advice or direction will certainly be welcomed.
