A friend of mine, higly regarded in the adult entertainement business, contacted me about the legalities of shooting porn movies in DR, the price and the availability of talent? He mentioned that there was a high demand for latin content in the industry... Any one familiar with this or as got any feedback?

There ahve been many posts about this. Tell your friend to be very very careful with the ages of his "actresses" or he might REALLY have a story to tell, like "Papillon" or the one about Turkish prisons.

Good luck! I hope he has a very good lawyer, that's if a local firm will touch him and he knows the in's and out's of 2257 record keeping requirements.

I'm sure he will find willing legal actors, but remember, this is not Miami or L.A.

Exactly what I said, the DR is not Miami or L.A. where the adult movie industry is large, open and well established.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the problems of shooting porn films in the DR.

If he doesnt know what 2257 is he shouldnt be shooting porn anywhere.


Dominicans frown on pornography (I know its crazy) so dont expect any legal or official help anywhere. You will be conned out of money any way anyone can come up with. It will have to be filmed in a private setting and you should be very careful to keep records of each actresses cedula. In fact you will find plenty of people sharing or using fraudalent cedulas.

Its up to you to police this.

If you upset anyone look forward to being extorted as heavily as possible. Even if you dont upset anyone look forward to being extorted by anyone who thinks they can get away with it.

Its definitely being done but without all the proper local connections best of luck!

Once again guys, I am simply trying to help out a friend. I have no intentions of shooting anything!

Now that being said, I am still curious about the whole matter.
A side from NOT FILMING UNDER AGE TALENT (That is an absolute no, no, no anywhere in the world! I find that personally revolting!).

What would make this kind of enterprise illegal in the Dominican???

Why could one not formally open shop like in California or anywhere else in the modern world?

Can someone be more specific and give details as to what type of problems to expect. What would make this business different from any other type of business???
