Question Bagasse

Does anyone have a contact for exporting Bagasse (Sugar Cane Pulp) to the US...........would be able to start with about 20 tons per month..........

Thanks...........

Also, does anyone know if they DO export any Bagasse or do they burn it in the distillery process here?

Bagaso, at La Romana is used to make Furfural, which is exported.

As for export?? Humm, I do believe that most of it is used to heat boilers at the sugar mills. Never heard of it being exported.

Let's see if the folks that really know, will chime in here.

Just would like to know what the demand for this product stateside warrants the costs of export and transport to there. Louisiana, Texas, and Florida have sugar cane production, why not source the product in the U.S.

Default Transport costs............

............from the DR would be much less than where it is being imported from now.........mainly China and Thailand.............the cost of fuel is causing the prices to rise dramatically............

In addition to the previous reply........... none of the sources in either LA or FL were willing to install the capibility to briquette or sheet it, since the "importers" cannot take it wet or raw.
