Opening a bank account..what's best?

Hi! I want to open a bank account in DR and I am wondering what's best. I might need the money anywhere between a year or 3. So, my question is should I open a savings account or a cd or you tell me. I will be depositing about a $100 a week or so. So, those of you who have experience with this please lend me a little advise.
