Default Whats needed to do business legally in the D.R.?

What does a US resident need to do in order to have an office in the D.R.?

I plan on coming to visit the office 2 times a month, I will be in the US mainly. My corporation is in the USA. Do I need to establish residency? I am not familiar with the process at this time.

Please chime in on what the process will be?

Mike

You will not be in the business every day? You'll be an absentee owner/manager?

No offense, but you're destined for failure.

Well its a bit more complicated then that. The main business is located in the states which I run and control daily. I am looking to outsource the customer service section in the D.R.

I plan on hiring and paying for top management to over see and report 2 times a day. Compensation will be regular base plus a large commission when goals are hit daily. It all is based on good people.

In the DR, great pay does not always equal great people.

Finding great people is not an easy task. Just ask those that have walked in your shoes and failed.

You're going to need to do a serious amount of networking and getting to know the culture in order to find those people.

DR1 is a great place to start, but it's no substitute for actually living here and doing it, failing and doing it again.

Well running a small office that serves the us economy with a service, not a product, makes dollars and pays in pesos is my plan.

Like I said, there a lot to it. I appreciate the information as always though
