Default Hotel / Condo Summer Occupancy Rates?

In Cabarete, I'm hearing indications that hotels & condos don't have nearly the # of confirmed reservations for July/August that they normally have heading into high season.

For those of you 'in the know' with hotels or rental properties, where are you located and what are you seeing in your part of the island?

same over here on the east.
while a few hotels filled their rooms with special offers even during low season/pre summer break for a couple weeks, the overall is looking the same than for peak season at the beginning of the year 2009, much lower than during the prior years.
i guess it is an overall trend everywhere.
and the places which are booming are more the 'cheaper' spots,
the more expensive locations have to adjust their rates downwards on monthly bases. looks like people are spending much less money for travelling this year than last year, but that should not be any surprise for anybody.
