This is the first work started as part of
Viadom project, the way that will have four lanes, two in
each direction, that will go from the
South of Santiago to the northwest, avoiding going
through the center of the city and for
drivers that go from Santo Domingo to
the provinces of the north coast.
Construction of this perimeter Avenue began in
kilometer of the Duarte Highway # 148 (between St.
Domingo-Santiago) up to kilometer #157 of the
Duarte highway between Santiago and Navarrete.
The perimeter Avenue will have a length of 24 km and the average width of each lane is 3.65
meters. It is built with all the rules of engineering
for future expansion to three lanes in each direction.
Will have 18 underpasses and bridges between
distributors with a design speed of 90 km per hour.
Distributors will be 5 and with 13 bridges built along the avenue where consistent with other
roads that connect to nearby communities.
The northern bypass is the most important avenue
for the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. It will be a
expressway which will reduce noise levels of
pollution and accidents, also saving time
and fuel to users, who may move
from south to north and tour the provinces of the line
Northwest without stops.
The route will have 3 important points where it connects with
municipalities such as the intersection of the perimeter Avenue road to Santiago - Navarrete,
Gurabo section also Circunvalacion in Gurabo and
the Duarte highway bypass ramp.
Other works
As part of the work is the VIADOM
widening to four lanes of the highway Navarrete-
Puerto Plata.
These works involve the construction of the
second lane of the road Navarrete-Puerto Plata and
rehabilitation of the existing road that has a
length of 45 kilometers.
The project also includes rehabilitation by VIADOM
of the Duarte Highway in the Santiago-Navarrete.
The implementation schedule for the design and construction
is 36 months from start date
of works. The stage of operation and maintenance of
each of the works will have a term of 30 years.
