Cool Moca? Santiago? Ideas needed...

Hello!

Heading to Santo Domingo with final destination being "Barahona" but, we have friends here in New York who are also going back "Home" to "Moca" and they want us to visit. We'd like to do a day visit and spend the night..

I'd love recomendations for hotels in the area, or on the way.. What we want in a hotel is inexpensive, clean, and a nice pool. That's it.. For instance.. Las Americas in Santo Domingo is just fine.. We'd like to stay near Moca, not necessarily IN moca.. but anywhere between Barahona and Moca.. (Now there's a lot of pueblos in-between, so help!!)

Thanks in advance!

Default Yeah! Right!

Between Moca and Barahona there are (a) Mountains, (b) About twenty larger cities, including Santo Domingo, and (c) Hundreds of plac4es to stay...

This is funny...

Moca is 1:15 from Santo Domingo outskirts and about 4:30 from Barahona on a good day.

There are no hotels in Moca, but there are a couple of Motels nearby. You could stay in Santiago, say at Aloha Sol or Camp David, if you have a car, and take the 15-20 minute drive to Moca...And there are lots of Motels on the highway between Santiago and Moca...on both highways, in fact...

Smile Stay in Santiago

Moca is about 15-20 mins from Santiago, I would recomend staying in hotel Camp David up on the mountain, the views are incredible and ask for rooms 5,6,7, or 8 because they are the largest rooms with the best views. This hotel restaurant was the former dictator Trujilos personal retreat and it only costs about 30 dollars per night. but there is no pool
