questions about santiago

I am trying to decide between santiago and la romana and need a little help making my decision. First of all I need a hotel recommendation in santiago. Something really nice but not an AI if there is such a thing there. Is the airport right in the city and if not how far to a nice hotel. Is there only one bus a day to Puerto Plata/Sosua and if so what time does it leave and from where? I may actually stay in santiago a couple of days and then head to the coast so that being the case what is there to do there? I was thinking maybe seeing some of the cigar factory's, any other ideas? I am traveling alone so my hope is to meet a nice chica to show me around so I also need the name of a club that is worth hitting. OK one last question does anyone have the name and number of a good driver that can speak some english? Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the help.
