What does your question have to do with hanging out in a Mickey Dee's and not eating, it is bazarro, in ANY country.

Although to be more serious, opening of McDonalds meant more than just another place to eat, it was one of the signs of freedom from the regime that separated FSU from the rest of the world. This restaurant was a part of civilization that was closed and forbidden to us. I guess this might be one of the reasons why it was so popular when it was just opened.

If the only people you see at the Hard Rock in SDQ are tourists, then you definitely need to visit the eye doctor pronto!

ok..tourists and a few ex pats. Granted...i only went there for a tee-shirt and it was early evening.

I'll drop my comments about TGIF. I can understand the attraction for some people...but i wouldnt go there here in nyc. I just dont like chain restaurants. I worked in hotel/restaurants for years...and like to spend my money somewhere more personal...where the owners are actively involved and passionate about the food...or just the atmosphere. (i have a hangout here in nyc...GREAT vibe but just so-so food...i go for the drinks not the food).

WHat i dont like about TGIF, Hard Rock, Applebees etc...is that it is they are just so friggen corporate. Thats just MHO...my best friend here in the city loves that kinda stuff.

I am not a food snob...but i think there is a difference when food (and even drinks) are prepared with passion.

I rarely shop at malls either (but i noticed that a couple of DR friends where very proud of the mall in Naco). "satus" there is differnt than it is here.

Ok...dems all my pesos for this thread:-)

He saw some white people and he instantly thought they were tourists. Hahahaha. Of course they were white so they can't be dominicans. But but, did he wait around to see if they were speaking english or spanish?
Now if he is not interested in visiting these establishments then why is he so interested in posting on this thread? Is anyone putting a gun to his head to go there?
