The difference is, I am sure your parents didn't come home to barrios, acting like Joes. We are talking about the black label drinking loud mouth, krisspy listening chopos who act like big shots here while they work in factories or as janitors in some building. I am sure you see the difference. No one is putting down your parents.

I read behaviors, not skin color in his posts. Was there a mention of race?

He specifically wrote ... "like those blacks in the projects"
then he could have said "people in the projects"

"Like those blacks in the projects" or "people in the projects" they both can be interperted as racist. It has nothing to do with race.

Chopoism is not just mutually exclusive to darker skin Dominicans. In Santiago more than half of the chopos are light skin Dumb-Yorks. 30 plus year old me in baggy jeans and tilted Yankee Caps. Or how about wealthy American Investment Bankers in New York who act like idiots in nightclubs all around New York City? Insulting women, being abrasive towards them and giving us Gentlemen a bad rep? You see the word CHOPO is a noun. It describes a person place or thing. In our case it is a person who acts like an imbecile in public in the ill-conceived belief that he is better than everyone. Whatever happened to laying low and being discrete? But that wasn't my point at all. More than half my post was regarding how Santiago has improved infrastructure wise as well as business wise (for the most part). I make a few observations about some idiots in the city and we focus on that. Maybe you guys are chopos and it bothers you.

Hardly think so...
You did write alot about how Santiago has improved and all...but no one paid much attention to that after reading the statement in which YOU stated color.
I believe in my first response that I DID write that up until that sentence I was enjoying the post...

This is what happens when people conversate and the reason that words should be chosen wisely...
You can be a philosopher but once you say something ignorant...people don't hear the rest of what you have to say...

It's your own fault...

And nowhere in this post have I seen an actual "Excuse me" or anything resembling an apology to the "blacks from the projects" who are also posting and are decent members of this website.
