Salsa in Santiago?
Anybody can recommend places in Santiago, (restaurants, small, clubs) where they have a salsa night or play mostly salsa music?
This is not for dancing(I don't dance) or picking up chicas, just for me and my old fogey friends to go out and have a few beers, sandwhiches and a couple of cigars.
Thanks

I'm not sure you'll find a place with both salsa and where you can eat.
Kartuja may have a salsa night, I'm not sure. Most dominicans don't dance salsa that well, so you may have trouble finding a night exclusively for salsa. Merengue/bachata/salsa yes, but not just salsa.

There is a club that has live Salsa and Son music on sunday afternoon and evening. It was called Patio de somebody. I will get a full name and address for you.
It was incredible, loved the music and loved the dancing. The crowd tends to be a bit older - not the really young crowd and great fun to watch the old style salsa dancing, not the frantic paced salsa they often dance here.

I got hte name for you: Patio del Son, it is in the neighbourhood called Ejido. I am not sure exactly how to get there but I am sure someone can help us out.
This Saturday there is a salsa competition in Santiago. It is near the monument. I will have details tomorrow and will post them after I get back.
