Default A Vote of Thanks

Well, my 2 week holiday in the DR has begun. I arrived at the hotel (Aloha Sol) in Santiago at 9:00pm. When I was originally planning this visit it was my intention to rent a car at the airport in POP and drive to Santiago but several members here advised against doing that and so I decided on getting here using Dominican Transfer. Now that I’ve seen what that drive is like (especially at night), I’m glad I decided to listen to the advise! When my week is up here, I will be renting a car for my second week because I’ll be staying in Cabarete and it is my intention to get out and “explore.”
This has been a long day! I left Ottawa this morning at 9:45am and had a 4-hour wait in Toronto before heading to POP and then the 2-hour drive to Santiago.

One final note – I would highly recommend Dominican Transfer – the driver they provided (Juan) was not only a good driver but very friendly and really made me feel welcome.

Tomorrow, I’ll go out and wander around the area here then on Monday I have to contact Children’s International to finalize arrangements for meeting the 2 boys and their families that I sponsor.

Robin

Hi there hillbilly i am told that you are the one to talk to me and 2 of my friends are coming to Santiago next month for 3 days august 19, 11 and 12. We are looking for a nice hotel in Santiago that is not very expensive anything between $55.00 to $85.00 a night. We also have female friends that will be coming to stay with us for the 3 nights and want a place that will not give us problems with the girls coming over. Do you know of any hotels in santiago that is good and chica friendly. My email is RWALL40@msn.com if you can help.
