Default a place to recover?

I got sick, had surgery and now need to spend some time healing.
My significant other wants me to go to DR for rest and relaxation. At first he wanted me to stay with his parents but no, I am really uncomfortable being "company" His parents have always been very kind to me and I know they would graciously endure my feeble attempts at casino and dominos but no not for me.

He says there is a place near Bonao - Blanco's (?) that can provide this environment
Can anyone tell me about it?

Oh please....if you want to be pampered, go to Punta Cana or Puerto Plata depending on your wallet. With family, and poor family at that, why bother? You would be a frazzle in a week..

Rest needs a lack of hassle and that means some place on a beach to r e l a a xxxx.

Or in the mountains, like Jarabacoa.

HB you are right I WOULD be frazzled in a week but that is just me. I rarely, actually never stay over at even my own family's homes. Right now I have invitations to stay at my sister's home in Virginia and a friends one room cottage in the Catskills. The cottage is most appealing because I can take two of my dogs for company.

But the fact that his family would be willing to host me during this time, and yes they live very simply, means the world to me.
