What is the best place to rent a car in Santiago? Is it cheaper to rent a car at the airport or in town? what are the usual rates for car rentals there?

The best place to rent a car is from the major brands, i.e. Enterprise, Budget & Avis. They will not be the cheapest but they will be the best in coverage for liability & collision, which you will definitely need. Rates will average about 60+ and up with full coverage.
