busing santiago to cabarete..

hello everyone! i have an upcoming solo trip to DR that i'm very excited about...

i'm flying into santiago late at night and will need to find a place to stay- from the threads it sounds like there is a lot of options near by, right?

then i will (hopefully!) be busing or getting to the north coast however possible. which method would you guys use? cheapest? thank you!

also, any additional advice on first timers to DR would help me greatly!!

i cant wait to relax on the beach, windsurf, eat some delicious DR food, and party at the beach clubs into the wee hours

Hi Sarah,

for the night in Santiago you should consider the Hotel Colonial! It is located just next to the central bus station from where the "guaguas" (buses) head toward all directions on the North Coast. You will find rooms between 14 and 43 US$ and the owners Victor and Lazaro are very helpful and speak excellent english.
