Default Closest cabins to Pico Duarte and/or Jimenoa Falls?

We're a couple and we'd like to stay somewhere that's as close as possible to either Pico Duarte and/or Jimenoa Falls. We were thinking of a nice wood cabin very close to either of those two sites.

I'd like to clarify that we won't be hiking or doing any dangerous activities there. We just enjoy having nice, longs walks that will take us to directly to sites like that. We feel like we're 'discovering' different places LOL

Thanks.

The closest place you can stay is in the Pinar dorado in jarabacoa.
From there you can ask the hotel to arrange transportation and guides for the places you want to go.

You can contact me once you get here, I will help you out

Has anybody on the forum been to the top of Pico Duarte?
What was it like?
I have climbed everything over 3000ft in England as a child on hiking holidays and now I can see why my parents were into these forced marches when I thought we should have been on a Spanish beach like other sane English folks.
Is a trek up this hill do-able?
Are there established routes?
