Default Hotel in Jarabacoa

Hi all,

I am planning a visit to Jarabacoa to celebrate my birthday. I love the place but I often hang at houses there. Since my friends are coming along I'm looking for a nice hotel. Any recommendations???

Our folks stay at both Hotel Pinar Dorado and Hotel Gran Jimenoa.

Gran Jimenoa is nicer, but more remote. Pinar Dorado is 1/4 mile from downtown.

Pinar Dorado is very old and expensive for what they offer IMO. Unless they've renovated lately it looked like it was falling apart last time I was there (a couple of years ago). I have heard about Jimenoa being pretty nice, but never stayed there.

Gran Jimenoa for sure! The river is loud...it's the pulse of the place.

The restaurant was good when I was there....a lot of food for the money...share meals.

We had the breakfast included with the room and that was a great deal.

Be sure the hot water works in your room before you accept the room, that was the only hassle we had....and they moved us to the newer rooms. Great service, they use a great cab company......
