Holy Crap!!!!!!!!! At first I thought it was one of those things where the answer was always the same... but I tried it 3 times... the first two had different results, but the same symbol.. ok, so I thought any combination will give you one of the numbers corresponding to that same symbol... my third time was a different symbol.. and that's the one that showed up!!! I'm kinda freaked out now!

I'll ruin it for everyone. Here is the mathematical formula:

1) Take any 2-digit number: XY. For example, 43: where X=4 and Y=3
2) The number "43" can expressed as: 40 + 3; or 10X + 1Y.
3) Add the two digita together: 4+3; or 1X + 1Y.
4) Do as they say and subtract 3) from 1): 43 - (4+3)= 36
5) Or: 10X + 1Y -(1X+1Y) = 9X
6) Therefore, your answer will always be a multiple of 9.
7) Take a look at the chart of symbols: all mutiples of 9 have the same symbol....

Ok... that's what I thought, but the thing that got me was they randomly changed the factor of 9 symbol... didn't notice it that third try...

Same here. I knew the multiples of 9 but didn't notice the change in symbol until a few tries in.. clever trick

ageap...sorry, I couldn't resist...

it reminded me of when I had just emigrated to the USA many moons ago....the school held a Carnival...the magician asked for a volunteer from the audience, but unfortunately for the magician....I figured out his trick.

later in the afternoon, a school official tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to leave.....weird....
