BTBCF Meet and Greet in Costambar Feb. 2, 2012

Well, we had a beautiful day in Costambar yesterday with 5 charities attending and many Canadian tourists as well as some Dominicans. The event was held at El Carey - right on the beach.

We donated $7,200 US to the charities and were very impressed to meet Catherine Sanchez, our first university scholarship recipient through DREAM Project.

There were also 8 bulging suitcases of school supplies, children's medicines, clothing, craft supplies, dental hygiene items, and sporting goods...... there will be LOTS of happy children!!! Some locals dropped by to see what was for sale... when it was explained that they were donations for poor people, they were amazed. We (Captain, hubby & I) had brought 5 suitcases, Martin Espiinal of Isaira Tours brought one and two other couples had one each.

There was plenty of networking as several charities were in a position to offer trading of items and services. Many valuable contacts made.
