The Blue Jays are in North America, their minor league affilicates are US based..they are all part of MLB. If anyone in MLB wants any players from the Dominican Republic they will obtain them the way they always have, from the DR not base a team there. I doubt that anyone is looking to move a MLB team to DR in the near future. There is enough tourism going on to keep people in nice little business for winter baseball in the DR with North American dollars.

Financially there is no reason to base a team there. There are some players formerly with NA teams that play in DR now. This is as close to that thought as it is going to get for the time being.

never happen and here why....the MLB owners have to ante up some of their money to the franchises that are not doign as good...they dont want another team dragging them down...there would have to be a stadium that qualifies for MLB, then they would have to be able to show they can pay a salary to a team of professional MLB ballplayers( they do have a union right?) then they have to be able to assure TV coverage.....

there is not enough per capita income in any dominican city that could attract a major league team .

the ballparks in the DR now..( the two that I have seen), are barely small scale college stadiums,,, not professional baseball stadiums!!!
