Default Aguilas risk losing playing in the series in the home park

what is going on!! does this text seemingly say that the Aguilas might not make the playoffs?? what a shame to not even have a chance to be the hometown-hometwon team for the caribe series!!

dont four teams make the playoffs????? and does anyone know how many games are scheduled left??

Needing a victory to stay in the playoff chase, Licey took advantage of the opportunity and beat their long-time rivals the Aguilas 12-2. Ronnie Belliard hit a homerun while Timo Perez and Jose Bautista drove in two runs each. In other baseball action, Escogido beat up on the Azucareros 3-1 behind a strong showing from pitcher Victor Santos. Santos pitched five strong innings for Escogido. And finally, the Gigantes beat the Estrellas 6-3 and with the win qualified for the post-season.

Default 50 games in regular season

Someone can correct me if the information is not correct but I believe that the regular season is 50 games. That would mean that the teams have about 9 more games to play.

4 of the 6 teams with the best season record then play a round robin series. They will play the same number of games against each of the other 3 teams in the round robin. I'm not sure but I think it is 18 games.

The top two teams will then play a best of 7 (or it might be 9) series to see who is the champ.

Normally only the champ goes to the Caribbean Series with the DR, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Mexico sending their champ. However this year Puerto Rico will not send a team and the DR will send the top 2 teams to the Caribbean Series which will be held in Santiago.

If Santiago doesn't make the round robin or doesn't finish 1st or 2nd in the round robin they will not play the Caribbean Series in Santiago.

Man, I'm really worried this year. They are just not playing Aguilas' style baseball. Let's see if Lima and others can pull it off in the end. They will be in for the semi-finals for sure, but Licey has been kicking their axx all year. Let's hope this changes...
