noone mentioned Vlad G. from the Angels. he may not be able to bat like Manny but he is a helluva outfielder. he has about 370 or so HR's....

Vlad's been one of my favorite hitters to watch for a while. There's still something left in the tank, but not a whole lot. Seems like his body is starting to break down. Even though I hate it, he might be doing a lot of DH duty in the future. It's a shame because he has that howitzer for an arm.

Talk about a Dominican swing! Vlad is the same as the kids swinging at bottle caps in the barrios. Amazing!

Manny is without a doubt the best Dominican hitter ever, even if you want to include A-Rod. Forget about lifetime numbers, because if you've watched baseball for a number of years, you can plainly see that for a single at bat, it is a lot harder for a pitcher to deal with Manny than A-Rod.

In terms of all MLB players, Manny is the best righthanded hitter that I've seen in 30+ years of watching baseball.

BTW, I'm a Yankees fan, so there's no bias in my opinion.

Probably one of the greatest arm in right field. The man has a canon for an arm and accuracy to boot. His only problem has been his wild swing, but being the freak of nature he is Vlad can hit anything anywhere in or out of the strike zone. His reach is amazing and hits balls that regular hitters would never have a chance at. Anyways, I've seen Vlad throw a man out at home, from right. It was a strike of a throw. Amazing!

I live in New Hampshire, which is official Red Sox territory. I grew up with the stockings, and went to games when Ted Williams was playing, one when he hit 3 homers. Later on I saw Captain Carl, Fisk, (should be in the HOF) Rice, Boomer, and even Bucky. Watched the Space Man pitch from the clouds of Olympus, and Tiant shut 'em down when it counted.

But the sweetest pure batter I've seen at Fenway is Manny. He's got a swing that is pure artistry. When you see him dogging it in the field at times, the only thing you can do is chuckle, because you know he's going to make up for it in the bottom of the 9th.

Default Did it again.

The 2 run HR tonight was a BLAST!

Still made it onto the parking garage - after hitting the light tower.

The countdown to 500

One of the articles is by Kevin Millar. Insightful.

Quite coincidcently, it appears others think he is a pretty good hitter.

Tom Verducci: Where does Manny Ramirez rank among the game's greatest righthanded hitters? - Tom Verducci - SI.com

As I've always been a fan more of players than teams I think I'm going to be rooting him from now on to break the 600 hr plateau, dreadlocks and all. Go Manny, go Boston! I can't weait to get me a new hat when I go back to the States. I'll be sure to pick me up a pirated Boston MLB shirt downtown for RD250 at Denny's.
