Default BBC documentary about DR baseball academies

BBC NEWS | Business | Caribbean's Baseball City pitches to the US

Good quote:
Quote:
"This has become a serious and mature industry in the Dominican Republic. It's the Silicon Valley of baseball."
It was screened last night - did anyone see it and is it available online?

As might be expected, even the quickest glance at the written article revealed errors, most notibly referring to San Pedro de Macoris as "the country's second city." I'm not sure if it even qualifies as the second city on the south coast. Probably close to a dead heat with La Romana, but San Pedro isn't even in the ball park (pun intended) with Santiago, and I'm pretty sure Puerto Plata is larger as well.

You did nothing wrong, there only is audio, it is a radio-documentary... the BBC World Service is a radio broadcaster (not to be confused with BBC World News tv channel)

Try San Pedro being below many other municipalities before it can be listed with a second city label...

Default Maybe they meant...

...the "second city of baseball".

SD being the first. I've lost count, but there is a ridiculous amount of MLB players (past, present and future) from Santo Domingo.

I can't think of any other city that has produced so many top players to any sport. It seems unfathomable.

Quite the most likely possibility indeed...

Thanks for clearing that up Cleef. The reporter meant SPM as the second city in the DR regarding baseball (where MLB players are from, etc) not population.
