Smile Looking for Ball Games to see

Hi, I am coming to the DR January 17 - Feb 21, 2009 and am looking to take in a ball game or a few.
I am not familiar with what leagues will be available then, any info would be appreciated.
Any Dominican game would be good but if i am there when the more professional ones are there that would be great.
What area would I have to travel to for these?
I will be staying in the Bavaro/Punta Cana area, I realize there will not be any there, but I am willing to take a trip to wherever to see some.

Come at the beginning of January and you will be in heaven. You can catch the finale of the Winter League. Plenty of top Major League players. Usually in Santiago and SD.

When you are here it is over.

First off, you are going to the wrong place to see a ball game: Go to Santo Domingo, La Romana or Puerto Plata (where you can visit Santiago and get back).
In La Romana-a long and difficult way from Punta Cana/Bavaro-there are two games a week.
In San Pedro-an easy drive from la Romana there are two or three games a week, and in Santo Domingo there are four or five games a week.
In Santiago there are two or three games a week.

The baseball season heats up in January. there are some very good games.

But, you will find it very expensive and tiring to stay at Punta Cana/ Bavaro and see games in La Romana.
