Default Rays or Phillies?

Who's gonna win in how many games, and why?

I'm a bandwagon Rays "fan", having come from the TB area, and having season tix to the Devil Rays for the first 3 seasons (there is only so much suck one can take...). I only know of the Rays what I saw vs. Boston, and don't know squat* about the Phillies.

Baseball knowledgeable folks! Please weigh it!

Default Pitching

The Rays pitchers are outstanding. They are young and do not feel pressure. If the "Homer hitting machine" gets cranked up they will win in five or six.

CB, as you can imagine this place is going nuts. Of course anything to take our mind off of the economy is most welcomed.

Phillies. Anything to make Mets fans more depressed and angrier.

This is one of those times I wish I was back in Tampa...

Default So unpredictable

It's been said that the power shift is with the AL (just look at recent history). However, I see the move of Sabathia, Santana, Manny and a long list of others has moved the power to the NL.

Beyond Cole Hamels, I don't think the Phillies have what it takes.

And, with the way the Sox played the Rays, I think they are now battle tested and should win out.

A lot has been made of the time off for the Phillies as well - history backs that notion up, but ....

I'll take the Rays in 6. They're good, and fun to watch.

Upton is LOCKED in, as well as Longoria and Pena.

Hope the rays win it, even though some of my relatives live in Philly...I just can't stand Philadelphia (as a town or team). Should be a huge party in Ybor City...

This is the only thing that has me a little worried. Although, I was a little nervous with the Phillies playing the Dodgers (especially how well they played the last 2 months of the season), but we saw how that worked out for the Phillies.

There is nothing I would like to see more than the Phillies winning the World Series - for myself, the players, and the fans. Let's face it - it would mean a lot more for Phillies fans than it would for Rays "fans."

I like the talent, heart and never give up attitude of the Phillies up and down the lineup from spark plug Jimmy Rollins to perfect closer Brad Lidge and everyone in between. When poor hitting pitcher Brett Myer got 3 hits in a game off of the Dodgers I could feel that there is something special in the air for the Phillies!

Well, Pedro Feliz played a good third base, Cole Hamels continued to roll, the bullpen of Madson/Lidge did not let up, and despite leaving a ton of people on base the Phillies are up 1 - 0!!!

I'm rooting for Philly. No rhyme or reason to it. I just have more friends in Philly (and they dont play in my teams division). THey are just a srappy bunch of guys that seem to get it done. While Tampa Bay is much more about youth. As a guy in his early 40's i like to see the middle aged men STILL get it done.

I wish them the best of luck tho. I think it going to be an interesting and perhaps Game Seven World Series (IMHO).
