Manny "O" Manny...
I live in L.A. and Im not really a baseball fan, but when MR came to to town it was "HOT" news.
He single handedly rejuvinated the baseball scene here in Hollywood.
Every game sold out, a new hope was dawning, we gave him the red carpet treatment, and he came through on his end nearly takeing us to the promise land.
DAVID BECHKHAM, KOBE BRYANT, and now MANNY who could ask for more.
What started out so sweet is now so depressing.
He rejected the offer of 45 million for a 2 year deal, in hopes that another franchise would take a chance on a 37 yo past his prime.
When no one came a knocking, he had to swallow his pride and contacted the DODGERS in hopes of retrieving the prior offer ( but no dice ).
I don't really know baseball but I do know L.A., he had access to the whole entertainment industry and could've made just as much doing commercials etc, etc...
I just want to know who's to blame, him or his agent?

Scott Boras was looking for a deal that would lock ManRam up until the age of 42. Six years at between 20-25 mil per.
One of the things I believe teams were weary of was the cost involved in an aging player who chumped out on the Red Sox but rejuvenated himself for the sole purpose of getting a long-term contract.
Guaranteed that he will not be the same player next year that he was in those last few months in LA. And that is if he gets signed.
I don't believe he will get an offer exceeding 2 years. Funny how during the winter meetings I never heard his name come up once.

He'll get more than 2 years somewhere. Too bad his view (4 years at a bazillion dollars) is not a reality, but his reality is very different than the rest of the world.
His defense is abominable. That makes him a perfect fit for the Angels or some other (AL) team.
He's an incredible hitter, but he comes with so much baggage. He couldn't hit enough HR's in his stint with the Dodgers to overcome how he bagged on another organization (hence the limited trade value in return). If winning is the most important thing, he's a tough cookie to bring into a young team. He'll do good, no matter where he is, but with his agent, and his penchant for being mostly about himself, he's a tough cookie to swallow. Lots of crumbs.
I'm glad we had him in Boston, but i'm even more happy that he's finally gone. Hard to root for.

MFYs?
I can't imagine the Yankees not wanting to put Ramirez into their lineup, he'd do wonders for them.
Please. Please take him!

Guess it doesn't really matter.
Highest, most expensive fruit on the tree wasn't Manny, it was the other guy.
Hope he turns out to be another Giambi.
Remember all the excitement when Giambi was signed?
27 out of 30 teams couldn't afford Sabbathia, 29 of 30 team couldn't afford Teixeria.
Same team got both. If you root for that, you must be thinking "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq (in 2005) was accurate.
Best Holiday wishes to you all.

with the signing of Tex, Manny may not have a home for next year. at 36, his options are shrinking as i'm sure he only wants to go to a contender. the world baseball classic may be his final farewell.
imagine Sammy and Manny show ?

He was telling his Sox mates that he'd get $100m/4 this off season.
That's not going to happen, unless the MFYs take him too.
