you know, looking back at his years in Seattle...ARod looks nothing like what he looks like now. In fact he looked pretty scrawny most of his years with the Mariners....but I am no steroid expert, has anyone asked his HS coach or other teamates recently?

This is horrible. Disgusting to say the least. A-rod is no longer who we thought he was. Only a mirror of the image we had for him. Even if this book is only partly accurate, his hall of fame career is shot. "B---h T--ts....?" Wow.... High school, taking 'roids?
Jose Canseco looks like a messiah now, after having his credibility swept through the mud....

who cares if he did steroid in high school,,really. Prove it...
He did steroids with the Yankees,,,prove it. if you can't then STFU already..
The guy goes out to Central Park in New York and it's all over the front page,,,please get a life!!!
He goes to Madona's house,,,so what!!!
He kisses himself in the mirror,,,BIG deal...
At least he has the balls to come out and discuss it on national TV and in a press conference. Unlike the hundreds of other major leaguers who are in hiding.
Enough with the AROD stuff..
BTW, who do you know that looks in their 30s like they did when they were 17? Please!!!!

I wonder what kind of evil did Arod to Selena Roberts to deserve this kind of persecution. At this point nothing differentiates Selena Roberts with TMZ.

Agreed, for the most part.

I agree. I couldn't care less if he still does PEDs to this day.
However, to "come out and discuss it..," and it turns out what you said wasn't true, is pitiful. I'll give you that, it does take some balls to try and pull that off. I'm sure we'll learn more in a 60 Minutes interview in the near future.
He had an opportunity today to discuss it and he balked. He's got a lot of things for sure, but I don't think 'balls' is something he's abundant in. We have a very large sample size to make that a definite determination.
Someone in this forum once said that they should just legalize PEDs. I thought that to be ignorant at first take, but the more I consider where these stories go, I think legalizing them would be a great idea.
Hollywood show-biz types get plastic surgery, hair pieces and boobs. If pro athletes want to poison themselves with chemicals and hormones, go right ahead.
I'm just grateful this guy isn't on my team. Perhaps that's 'throwing stones in my glass house' but at this point, I have a window open and good aim.

The Hollywood stuff doesn't matter. It's a career based on cheating, lying and occulting. It points to the integrity of the game and the man. The game has none, and neither does the man. In the end, the truth is that had Alex Rodriguez won, this would all be nullified. What's the difference between Manny and A-rod? Manny has won. A-rod love's his reflection. Manny's bull gets forgotten.
And in the end, he never came out and spoke about it. He was outed by SI and was FORCED to comment about it in order to save face. It was then proven he lied. If he lied this time, to save face, how do we know he didn't do this in the years previous or after?

According to an interview with his high school coach last night on CBS, "Alex is like a son to me and I asked him face to face if he did steroids, and he said no, and I believe him more than some author."....
Look, the way I see it, Up until 2004 a lot of that stuff was not illegal, was it? Rembeber the photos of McGuire with Andro in the background??? Does anyone think McGuire could have done all of that off steroids?
So far Sammy has not been identified as a steroid user...who knows...???????
Alex is uncouth, but so are 98% of all Dominican ball players off the field...they have no "up bringing" ..

Oh brother, here we go again with the "steriod" experts who look at Arod and assume he is some kind of steriod monster. You guys just have no idea how much a difference age, good nutrition and physical routines can make. Me and my brother have gained a combined 130 lbs in 20 plus years from high school doing such and we never used steriods.
While it is a fact Arod used steriods for a time period is apparent he either used small amount or certainly didn't take full advantage of them, ie for a guy his size gaining 60+ pounds of solid muscle would be easy to do in a year.

Next, Selena will break the news that A-Rod wasn't really breastfed and used formula instead.
A-Rod probably was on steroids, but I don't trust anything that she writes after the way she conducted herself during the Duke Lacrosse player scandal. She judge and assumed these guys were guilty w/o any proof and she never apologized. She is just trying to sell a book.
My husband gained 25 pounds in the summer btw sophomore and jr yr in HS and he has never done steroids.
Baseball just needs to come out and admit that most of the players were using steroids and finally close the door on this. Otherwise, every time someone wants to sell a book we are going to get another "juicy" tidbit. Just put it all out and stop the slow bleeding
