just an observation
I have been watching the yankees on tv as much as I can,and it is a shame that they now have this new stadium, and it is half empty all the time...and the prices they quoted were just mind boggling..over $2000. for a front row seat,$10.00 for a beer,$7.00 for a hotdog....how any family yankee fan can afford a night at the game.....once a year!!!!
Sports is getting ridiculous....stay home and watch on tv for nada....
and the Yankees are not very good...

People seem to lose sight of the fact that this is a game. If all the sports franchises went away today, the world would go on. If all the police officers in the U.S. went away, anarchy would immediately follow. Remember Hurricane Katrina? Rich owners pay their players unbelievable amounts of money and charge unbelievable prices for their product. This does not bother me because I believe in Capitalism. As long as people are willing to pay these prices then the teams will charge them. I, for one, refuse to support these rich spoiled men who play a game. I have played soccer throughout my entire life because I love the sport. If someone offered me even a fraction of what these players make, I would thank God everyday for my good fortune. I would also be gracious to the fans who were responsible for paying my salary. I have been a police officer for 21 years and I appreciate my job. I understand that I work for the people and pride my self in providing polite and professional service. I think God everyday that I have a career that I love which allows me to live a comfortable life. I love sports, but I am content to watch on my HD TV and drink my $1.50 premium beer.

Concur, good sir(s)
MLB really isn't a fan's sport as it once was. It's more of an entertainment industry, and the majority of people going are probably there to be 'seen', not necessarily to watch a game. There are certain exceptions, but I think it's less true baseball fans - there to actually watch the game.
If you really want to watch baseball, go watch high school or college ball. You can sit closer and you'll see more.
I watch University of Nevada (UNR) and local high school baseball. Both are free (unless your windshield gets busted).
We have a brand new stadium in Reno for the AAA Arizona Diamondbacks. It's $10 to get in, $15 for a "premium" seat. Grass embankment behind the OF fence. Beers are $5-7, food is reasonable and if you're creative you can sneak in a sandwich and a nip.
I'm glad the MFY's are getting crushed in their new stadium. They're bringing the game in the wrong direction - away from the fans, and towards Hollywood.

Are you sure? I want to go watch 'em this summer after mi primo 5to (A-Rod) returns, and I think the most expensive ticket I found was around $370. Of course, I can't afford that, either, but it's no way near what you say.

I've heard that the premium leather seats (first 10 rows I believe) around the dish are $2500 a piece. It's definitely at least $2k.
