Default DR Baseball Hats

I want to buy some DR baseball hats for my brothers. I thought it would be a cool souvenir/gift for them. I'm looking for the official ones from the baseball teams. I know nothing about DR baseball, but I've seen a couple Dominican guys wearing these hats and I think they look really cool! Does anyone know if you can buy them online? I'd rather not go searching through Santo Domingo for them!!!

Are you in Santo Domingo now? If so you can buy the hats just about anywhere. Street vendors, colmados, El Conde, department stores, and even at the airport.

No, I'm in Canada now. I'm heading to Punta Cana on vacation at Christmas but only for a week so I was hoping I could buy these online.

the "coolest" looking hats i've seen in the DR were from/of japanese baseball teams. seen them in an odd colmado here and there. light years ahead in design, but hard to find because the few times that i have seen them for sale and they sell rather quickly. i was in a not so glamourous part of SD visiting the same colmado 2 and 3 times a day, had been there a month, hats came in, found one i liked, didn't buy it because if figured nobody buys those hats anyway, i'll wait till i leave next week, went away for the weekend and when i returned they had been sold out.

Default Where to find them

above is a response to ExtremeR´s post. and amparocorp, why would she want a Japanese hat as a sovenuir from the DR? that makes no sense, and the Dominican League hats are just as modern as any.

The official ones are New Era, just like the ones made for MLB. I am pretty sure the Japanese hats are made by New Era too.

I could not find any online. Other than at the Estrellas Orientales official team store: Estrellas Orientales
But you have to call them, and not sure if they even ship to Canada.

They have them at Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo and probably at most malls throughout the country. They probably have them at the airport too. Just make sure they are New Era. They may even have them at a hotel gift shop if you stay at a Resort. The ones they sell in the street are usually not official. The New Era ones are better, more durable, more confortable.

I have been blogging about the Dominican Winter Baseball Leauge: Dominican Baseball Guy

Pm me or email me through my blo if you have any more questions.

Nice link, I especially like the photo posted November 15. I see they start out young getting the baseball fever.

Got a question maybe you can answer. Is there any way to get tickets in advance in Santo Domingo? I have always had to go to the stadium game day in the morning to get tickets. Last trip there they had posted a list of places in SD where tickets can also be purchased. La Nacional supermercado on 27 de febreo & Gomez is on the list. I will try Nacional this Friday Licey vs Aguillas game, but it sure would be nice to purchase tickets days in advance.

As far as the hats the gift shop at Quisqueya Stadium has the authentic hats for every team in the DR.

Default Quisqueya Tickets

I am not sure. I have seen Gigantes play there as well as Toros this year and just went a few minutes before the game and bought tickets from a scalper.

Licey Aguilas is a much hotter ticket, but I think you can still find one from a scalper. Also, the later in the season, the more people come, as there are more big leaguers playing and the games start to matter more in terms of playoff position.

With that said I have been to over 15 games this season in San Francisco, santiago, and Santo Domingo and none of the satdiums were even half full. You should be able to get tickets the night of the game, whether through box office or scalper.
