enchantra, although I'm not a moderator, allow me to welcome you to DR1. I live in Houston, too. I know lots of Dominicans here, but sometimes go weeks without seeing any, unless I go out to a club or a festival. Every now and then, I run into some old friends walking around the Galleria.

Rick, if you are going to be a consistent moderator, then you ought to delete your messages, which were totally uncalled for. Put the bible down, and be fair to new posters asking questions in a decent manner.

Listen up ladies and gentlemen, monitoring these threads is difficult enough and having to put up with the spam, porn and just stupid posts and I don't need nor want your abuse. Something of the night knows what the rules are here and you being a newbie have had some slack allowed in your direction. If either or both of you should continue to direct your conversations toward me or at me then the red button will come into play.
You have been warned.

I don't recall anyone playing any games. The poster asked about Dominicans in the Houston area, and I answered it, in large part BECAUSE I LIVE IN HOUSTON.
But fear not, Sgt, I'll leave your forum alone, and will PM a poster with any info I may have. Have a good night.

Nice Site
I should have known when I saw that the last post was in feb. Something wasn't right. There is a reason why there aren't more people on here. Sad really. This could be a very effective means of communicating and exchanging ideas. However, that won't be possible if someone is stiffling it based on a whim. Nothing I posted was disrespectful, spam-like, or abusive. This was my first time on here and most certainly will be my last.

No, enchantra, if you're still around - please don't be put off. Most of us don't bite, at least most of the time, anyway.
That particular tantrum seems to have been directed at Yaya's post, absurdly so, firstly because it was posted way back in February, and unfounded besides, because the main question in her post was in English, but it happened to contain one sentence - a friendly greeting - in Spanish. For some reason it seems to have triggered a bizarre overreaction on the part of the mod. I'm sorry you had to experience that.
