I am Dominican, and I've wanting to move to either LA, San Diego, and or San Jose area, but was afraid to, because I did not know anyone there and I was afraid there aren't any Dominicans there. I like Mexicans, but I would prefer to hang out with Dominicans because they are much fun to be around with. Hey! I'm Dominican too! Like you said, nothing beats Salchichon and Presidente.

Tell me about it David. Yo vivo en San Diego. Me mude para aca from the heights last year, y no sabes, me confuden con todo menos con dominicana. un dia un muchacho me dijo 'you have a sexy accent, where are you from? and i said "I'm from the dominican republic" and he looked at me like "What?" and the guy then said, "oh, so you're dominican republic!", I couldn't contain my laughter and I just cracked up, and I responded, "actually, I'm dominican-democrat" u'd be surprised how bad people are about geography in the USA. anyway since then on, when people ask me where I'm from, I answer, "I'm from where the best baseball players come from." You have to see the look on their faces. It works everytime like a charm. Cuidate y cogelo suave. Educate them!

Hey sofia i just moved to Newark, CA and thats close to San Jose but its nice to know of other dominicans in the area. I havent been here long and the only hispanics around here are mainly mexicans. I did run into one puertorican and that was amazing after just being here for a little while.
