You said his Dad lives between DR and NY if he's an American citizen why doesn't he sponsor his son? Not sure if there's an age limit for children though.

Look up USA immigration. I have a new PC and haven't figured out where the heck my address bar is or why it doesn't show the address or I give you the link for it.

How was it that he was able to live in the US and go to school, as you mentioned?.

Did he had a student visa?. If not:

Was he a legal resident when he was a child?. If yes:

What happened to his Alien Card, did he let it expire?.

In order to live in the US, one MUST have some type of visas. What type he had when he lived in the US?.

This is a little odd for me. I don't think that anyone here can help you since you seem to know NOTHING about your boyfriend. I mean, how are we supposed to know?.

You say that he is your boyfriend, yet you know very little of his situation. You want us to help you, yet you don't offer info unless you ask him.

You want him to join you in the US, yet you don't know if he had any type of visas when he lived here.

Since he is your boyfriend, shouldn't you know all these things already. All information should be gathered/learned at the time of courtship, I think.

How are we suppose to know if you know nothing.

My only advice to you is to get all your information straight and then come back and post so we can have a better idea with what we are dealing with.

I hope that you can understand my position. It's like telling someone: "I bought this car but it did not come with a key or manual, give me some advice".

All we have to work on are speculations. I don't want to speculate why he used to live here but know he is not, maybe he had a student visa, maybe not, maybe he got into trouble, maybe not, maybe he let it expire, maybe not.... See, it's not fair for us to speculate unless you give us something!.

Miguel - u saying i dont know NOTHING about my BOYFRIEND is out of order.

The accurate judgement would be that im not entirely clear on how he got to the US before, and under what kind of visa, as when it was discussed before, he always talks about his life is NY - not how him and his family got there.

Those details were not of relevance until recently. I have been planning to go there for a while, but it was only the past couple weeks that we have considered the possibility of him trying to move there also. So the whole plan is stillu p in the air, and hes still in the very first stages of thinking about his options.

And to be honest when i posted my question- i didnt expect to get responses so soon from anyone.

Like i said before, i was just trying to get information or some insight while he trys to find out from his end. But yes i will gather all the facts first, before anyone can guide me accurately,

So thanks to you miguel and all who have given me info, and ill be back when i know for sure..

Until you determine the facts of his departure from the US this may be a moot question. If he was deported, he will never receive a visa.
