Judy Reyes wins Alma award
Two actresses of Dominican origin won awards during the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) ALMA Awards event held on Monday, 5 June. The NCLR is the largest US Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the US. Judy Reyes, of NBC’s Scrubs show (born in the Bronx, NY of Domincian parents) dedicated the award to the Dominican Republic. She won the Outstanding Actress in a Television Series. Michelle Rodriguez won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Television Series for her performances in ABC’s Lost.
