Default Cheap calls from Canada to DR

Just thought I would give a quick heads up to those on the board who live in Canada, and call the DR often. I have found a calling card that charges very cheap if calling a 829 number. It is called Copa del Mundo. For some reason the system "thinks" that it is a US number and therefor charges the same rate as it would to the US, so for a continuous phone call you can talk for over an hour with $2. The same card gives a much higher (but still good) rate for an 809 number. Might as well try it while it still works.

Cheers.

You can get them at just about any corner store, if they are not on display just ask the clerk if he has them. I'm in ottawa, and they are quite common. I tried a couple of others too. Champion has the same thing. Tekno did for a while, but they corrected it.

Default Good Morning!

I'm in the GTA and I use 10-10-100. I'm charged 17 cents a minute. My home home(Bell) charges 25 cents and my Rogers(special international rate) cell also charges 25 cents.
Have a great week-end everyone
:+)

I also live in the GTA and use 10-10-229. I charged 11 cents per minute and this is for a cellphone. Only works if you have a Bell line. Charges show up on your Bell bill. Give it a try.

If you have access to a computer, you can use skype. Computer to computer is free, or if you set up and account you can call a phone for 2cents a min. I know it's good for North America, but I think it's good world wide. Someone may know better about that. Most of the internet cafe's have the capability.
