Thanx for all the help my friends, thats the man - now comes the hard part " an proper introduction to Alma Trujillo" in Coral Gables so she can tell me all about him. I also need to contact Dominican historians in the DR, I want to find out as much about him as I can. My mother says that my aunt still tends and keeps an eye on Alma. Thru out this seach, one thing I have found out from my extended family was the "hush hush" and the fear that they still have for the Trujillo's + Lovaton's. Growing up as an American, only being exposed to the DR as a child, spending the summers in the "capital", remembering the 1965 revolt and being hidden from people - this never clicked in on what I may be about. To all my Dominican brothers and ssisters I open my heart and thank you for the help. Holy sh-t, this man was a big time somebody back then.
Thanx

Carlos, there is a board member called Ogre of the Caribbean who has a particular interest in this period of history. If he doesn't spot this thread & post you might want to read some of his posts via the search function & send him a PM. If you send me a private message with your email address, I'll hook you up with your Irish, Pennsylvanian Dutch, and German ancestors.

Default UPDATE - who is he - I have hit a wall

Hey everybody, finally got an "address" on Alma. Found out that my aunt still drops in on Alma, but she was afraid to give it to me. She was shocked to find out that my mother had sat down and informed me of my past and who my father was. Still tell ya, some people from that generation are afraid to talk about it. Found out one of cousins husband was involed in the SIM durning the 50's and later the National Police prior to the 1965 revolution - boy talk about rattling the skeletons in the closet. Anyway I want to keep you'all updated because your help has been great. Going to write Alma a proper letter of introduction (I knows of me, plus the Lovaton's most likely have prepared her when I 1st them last fall). Just need to get her to open up.
