As part of the celebrations an special events hosted at the Museum of African American Arts, the Dominican exhibit "Merengue! Visual Rhythms/Ritmos Visuales" invited the community to be part of the screening of the film "Dominican Identity and Migrations to la Hispaniola" for the first time in Boston.
Boston Latino TV interviewed Nestor Montilla about the roots of international migrations to Hispaniola, and how these groups have contributed to the multicultural richness and ethnic mixture of the Dominican Republic, including African descendants from the United States and Haitians.
